It’s no secret that the neighborhood surrounding Hope Street isn’t the safest place to play outside. When the idea for Shechem at Hope Street was formed, it was simple. There should be a safe place in our neighborhood where kids can play basketball. Shechem has evolved to include a cafe, classrooms, rooftop garden, and resource center alongside that gym. These are all spaces where people can learn and grow, but that initial thought didn’t leave. We all want a place where we can play, have fun and be with others. To raise support and funds for Shechem’s gym, we are having a 3v3 basketball tournament. Join us on July 31st, dust off your old shoes, play some ball and help us build Shechem!
