As a past Board member plus an annual donor I feel truly blessed to be invited into the realm of Hope Street.  This ministry has given back far more personally than I have ever contributed over the past 12 years. So many of the member’s stories are dramatic and heartfelt which gives me great satisfaction.  The beauty of residents finding Jesus in this challenging neighborhood truly warms your heart.  The efforts and direction of Hope Street staff are nothing less than amazing!  Sensitive yet firm, Ashley and her team demonstrate the love of Christ in dealing with so many different personalities. Sadly, relapse and return to old behaviors poses a constant challenge for staff which makes their job even tougher.  However the rewards of serving our Lord far outweigh the disappointments.

 Now the dream of Shechem is becoming a reality.  This project is so desperately needed yet we are still far from completion.  Our commitment makes this project a true “Walk with God'' for many of us.  Yet we know surprises and blessings await us in the future.  We also trust that  God is on board with this dream and look forward to watching what He has in store.  I would encourage potential donors to be part of this team and celebrate with us as the doors of Shechem become open to the neighborhood!
