Doin' TOO much

You're still here? You should go home. You need a vacation! (4 year old) You may be a workaholic. Try not to stay too late tonight. These are phrases heard more often than not from our members, volunteers, my teammates etc. my response... I usually nod and smile, say okay, formulate some excuse, ultimately disregard. I'm not telling you this to tell on myself although I probably should. I'm telling you this, because I think I've had an unhealthy view of self. A view that says well if I put this much more in... then this much more will be produced. Well the other night or technically early morning...the verse "Be still and know that I am God" came to mind. Board Member Prayer

Father, you are the author and creator of the very idea of unity. Your prayer for us was that we would be one as you are one, and that when we become one in You, that the world would see Your glory through us. Help that to be increasingly true of us as a family of believers. Father, where we have forgotten t

Just guessing. Josh brings it waaaay back. Like any good story he starts with “Long ago…”. He brings to their remembrance Abraham, then Jacob and Esau, Moses and Aaron, remember what happened there guys something with

I Bought a Vacuum

I wish I had recorded the conversation I had with one of our members on Monday. It was one of those, “oh yeah that’s right we are making a difference moments”. I asked Jaime why she had such a big smile on her face, to which she responded I bought a vacuum! I smiled and said that’s exciting. To which she said you have no idea, my bills are paid, I’m sober, I have a great community around me and for the first time in awhile I have somewhere to call home, so I bought a vacuum. Simple and yet profound. Many of our members are currently experiencing freedom from addiction but so much more than that they are being set free to live life to the full. In the GFP we call it FLOURISHING. We are set f
