Makes Me Think
Oh great God, give us rest We're all worn thin from all of this At the end of our hope, with nothing left Oh great God, give us rest Oh great God, do your best Have You seen this place, it's all a mess And I've done my part too well I guess Oh great God, do your best David Crowder Band
Driving 75 mph into a 45mph crosswind is a bit unnerving. Makes me think of the power of God. Makes me think of the power of the evil one. Makes me think of the struggles of life. Makes me think of my people… in two communities. Makes me think of two other communities in the middle east a long time ago. Makes me think what was true for them is true for us (that’s the thing about being a prophet). Makes me pray back to God, the one who releases the wind as well as shelters us from it, His promises.
Community Prayer
For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for 53206,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give that neighborhood a future and a hope. Then all the people living and working in the 53206 will call on Me and will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [all their voices,] and I will listen. Then [with a deep longing] the whole zip code will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [53206 people will] find Me when they search for Me with all their heart. I will be found by that neighborhood,’ says the Lord, ‘and I will restore all those who live and work in 53206 fortunes and I will [free them all] … ‘and I will bring that community back to the place from where I sent them into exile.’
Amen, pb
