Unconditional Love

Father,

Your Word tells us that we love because You first loved us. But we get so focused on loving others (what we need to do) that we forget why we do it in the first place. We’re so preoccupied with what we’re giving or not giving, that we neglect why we give at all. Because You first loved us. Because you freely gave Your love, Your grace, Your Son to us.

Lord, we praise You for the undeserved gift of Your love to us; help us to receive it. We praise You for the truth that each one of us is Your precious creation and Your child, and that You love every one of us fiercely, completely, and forever; help us to take hold of it. We praise you for the reality that nothing in all of creation can separate us from Your love; help us to rest in it.

And as we give, Father, may everything about our giving bring glory to Your Name and reflect our receipt of Your love. As we give of our time on a Serve Saturday at your Greenhouse, let You love overflow into our conversations and out through the work we do. As we give of our resources, fill us with joy and thankfulness at the opportunity to use what You’ve given us for Your Kingdom. As we give emotionally through our relationships, may your love pour through us onto others, and may each member of the Hope Street family flourish as a result.

Father, we love You. Wring out that love for Your glory and the good of those around us.
