Breathe

For those of you who have an apple watch, how many times a day do you get a notification telling you to breathe? I don’t personally have one, but on countless occasions when I am with friends who do, they experience this. This past weekend, I got a tattoo that I have been wanting for some time now that simply says “breathe”. To some, this may seem like a silly thing to get, but for me, it is a great reminder. For me, being reminded to breathe is what keeps me grounded. In fact, it is the first thing that comes to my mind when I feel sad, angry, or anxious. It is the one thing that in difficult or uncomfortable situations I have complete control over. For those who do have an apple watch and experience this, I challenge you to take the time to recognize what it is you are doing/feeling at that time. Are you anxious or stressed? Are you nervous or maybe angry? Father there is so much we have to be thankful for! Thank you for another day to live and experience all of your goodness. Thank you for the ability to simply breathe! Lord, today I ask that whoever is feeling stressed, anxious, sad or hurt just take the time to breathe. May this breath calm their nerves, relieve their stress and pain and release their anxiety. Thank you Lord for the ability of such a simple act to do so much good in us. We love you and we thank you. In Jesus name we pray, Amen Brooke Thomas (Hope Street Staff Member)
