Our Father in Heaven

Our Father in Heaven…

You are so good.

You see what we don’t see.

You know us better than we know ourselves.

Thank you.

We ask that your kingdom, your way of doing things, would totally overcome our world.

That your kingdom would grow roots, starting with our own hearts and minds and bodies and growing out from us into our families, our neighborhoods, our cities, states, nations.

Your kingdom come! May the ministry of Jesus succeed in us and around us…

Your will be done…

..on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

Give us what we need in bodies, in our minds, in our hearts.

Help us to receive what we need from you.

And to receive it also from the people you put in our lives.

And, Father, help us to share the bread you’ve given us.

Help us to remember our neighbors who don’t have what we have.

Let us help you answer that prayer in other people's lives.

Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who have trespassed against us.

God, we are sorry for our sins.

Please help us to be generous toward others with forgiveness.

Lead us not into temptation. Allow us to avoid the great test that might get the best of us.

Direct our steps, Father.

Please, Holy Spirit, direct our steps.

And deliver us from evil.

Deliver us from the evil one who seeks to steal, kill, destroy, distort.

Yours is the kingdom.

Yours is the power.

Yours is the glory forever and ever.

We don’t need to build our own kingdoms.

We don’t need to gather more power for ourselves.

We don’t need our own reputations to be so great.

Yours is the kingdom.

Yours is the power.

Yours is the glory forever and ever.

We pray these words for the members of Hope Street.

For the staff.

For ourselves.

For our families.

Our friends.

Our neighbors.

And we pray these words in obedience to and trust in the name of Jesus.

Amen, Greg

(Hope Street Volunteer)
