Thank you

Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

-1 Thessalonians 5:18

Last weekend I was cleaning around my apartment and decided it was probably a good idea to clean my shower. Now for those of you who have done this before, you know it is probably one of the worst – if not THE worst – cleaning tasks to do. Once I finished, one thing came to my mind. For many years I watched my mom take the time to clean our showers at home and never thought anything of it. She would finish cleaning and one of us kids would instantly jump in and proceed to probably make it just as dirty as it was before. Reminiscing on my childhood, I grabbed my phone and texted my mom “Thank you for all the years of you cleaning the shower because this is not fun.”

This week one of our members, Normon, came down to the office to deliver our staff cards. Upon opening, we realized they were thank you cards.

Thank you – It is only 2 words and 8 letters, yet this phrase can go a long way. We all yearn for appreciation but oftentimes overlook the importance of giving it.

God there are so many things for us to be thankful for in our lives. I pray that even on our darkest days may we look at all that you have given unto us and thank you Lord. Please help us to all take more time out of our days to thank our family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors for all that they have done for us or given to us God. And ultimately thank YOU for not only placing these individuals into our lives but for always being present to listen to our thoughts, guide our actions, and help us through our struggles. Thank you Lord for another day, a roof over my head, food on my plate, my health, and the many loved ones I know I can rely on in my life.

Amen, Brooke.
