We Look to You

Psalm 103:1-5

Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Who doesn’t want to soar like an eagle, especially in these times?  To be able to look down on this world from a new perspective.  To have the strength to effortlessly climb to great heights.  That is God’s promise, to forgive our sins that weigh us down, to heal us, redeem us and then to crown us with love and compassion and renew our strength like the eagle.  A new strength and freedom in Christ is ours.

It is so easy to forget where we came from compared to where we are now.  How God has always been there, seeking us and steering us in ways we see and ways we do not see and to know He will always be there.

Father, in this time of confusion, hurricanes, unrest, wildfires and unusual unprecedented times, we look to you.  We look to you for guidance, we look to you for understanding, we look to you for shelter.   We look to you to send us to new heights in your love and compassion as people who have been redeemed.

We also look to you and give great thanks, great praise, and have great joy.  Help us to realize that we should continuously be offering praise for simply who you are and always acknowledging what you have done for us.

Help us to know your presence every day as we go through our lives. Help us to be kind to everyone we cross paths with and show your love.   Help us every day to always be aware of you in our lives.  And finally, help us to renew our strength like the eagles so we can soar as redeemed people with great love and compassion to those around us.

Amen,
