Your Word

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for another day where we get the privilege to share in your truth. Thank you for the freedom to read and study your word.

Lord, the evil one is prowling, looking for ways to distort your truth. Help us renew our minds every day by spending time in your word. As Paul says in Colossians, I ask God that you will give complete knowledge of your will and give spiritual wisdom and understanding. Lord, I thank you for your word. I pray that we would be drawn to read it, meditate on it and allow it to help us be rooted in you. I pray that our roots will be “strengthened in you so we will have all the endurance and patience we need.” Father I ask that our roots would run so deep that when the enemy whispers his lies over our life we would not be swayed into temptation.

Lord, as I think of the word GROW It reminds me of all you want for our lives. That you are a good God who is kind and loving but also just in all your ways. I pray that when we fully submit to your authority and truth, realizing that without it we are nothing, our lives would be filled with so much fruit that others would see you. Remind us that we GROW by being rooted in truth. Your word is truth.
