Janet McKenzie. When I signed the contract to publish Well Moments, I knew what I wanted to have on the cover. The piece you created for our Shechem grand opening. Your interpretation of the woman at the well continues to bless me, and the hundreds of people who walk through the doors of Shechem at Hope Street each week. Thanks for sharing your gift with our community, and now in turn with each person who picks up a copy of this book. Kendall Schoenike. Kendalls has been around for A LOT of my ideas. She has been a trusted sound board, and a faithful teammate. When I brought what I wrote to her, I felt pretty vulnerable. I wasn’t sure if what I had was worth reading, and even more terrifying - if it was, was I ready for others to read it? She made time to read, share thoughts, and encourage me. I am grateful for her support, and willingness to participate in this project. We have done a lot of projects together, but this one will be one of the most meaningful.

My Hope Street Community. I knew there was something different the day I walked in the door. I didn’t know just how different my life would be for the better all of these years later. Thank you to each man, woman and child who has walked alongside me, and in turn invited me to be a part of their life. There aren’t enough pages in a book to express my deep gratitude. Each of you has positively impacted my life, and I hope in some small way I have done the same. I hope this book is as much a gift to you, as it has been to me in writing it.

My Family. So much of what was written and shared in this book came before Taylor, Jed and Eden, and even still as I have worked on this project over the last year - they have each in their own way been so gracious with me. They share me, and yet, also uniquely join me in caring about a community of people on 26th and Capitol.  To my parents. You have always encouraged me to dream big, and stood with me as I figured out what that actually means. Thanks for showing up for me in this space in the same way you did for the hundreds of basketball games I played in. Your support is invaluable to me.

Father. Thank you. Thanks for inviting me in, and walking with me each and every step of the way - even and especially when I attempted to go at it on my own. Thanks for graciously meeting me where I am at, and yet inviting me into more. I am grateful for the ways I have been able to witness your faithfulness and provision. Thank you for the memories, the names and faces of beloved people, the setbacks and triumphs - all of it, and thanks for not wasting any of it.
