Non-Stop Prayer

I’ve been doing a lot of praying lately. Not that I don’t always pray, but I’ve needed to pray or else I haven’t been able to quite make sense of what I’m thinking, feeling, doing etc...there has been continuous dialogue lots of hand flying, tears, silence, few words, LOTS of words. It’s been sort of a trip. But I think a good one.
I realize I probably don’t rely on communicating with God as much as I should. I normally designate time, whether it be before bed, before I eat, with a friend who needs it or any other scheduled time. I rarely just have an ongoing conversation...probably because that feels weird. Yet, often we are in constant dialogue with our friends or family..so what’s the difference?
I had the opportunity to share my story at church this past weekend and I had lot of people come up after to me with tears in their eyes expressing that they were in a hard place of being able to let go and trust that what God has for them is better than what they think is best. As I prayed with people and quite frankly for myself too alongside of them, I prayed for peace. Sometimes the situation or circumstance won’t change, but He promises to give us His peace.
So that’s my prayer for you.
Father, I pray that your beloved sons and daughters would be overwhelmed by your peace. That thoughts and questions would settle and your truth can rest on soft hearts. That we would rely more on being in communication with you. Looking to you for answers and not expecting to always have to have it all together. You are good. So good. So faithful and always near. Thanks for being OK with my tears, accusations, frustrations, fears and every other “state of being” I find myself in on any given day.
