God's Plan

Isaiah 43:19 says, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland”.

As the season changes physically, often times, so do things in our life. In these moments, I find it exceptionally hard to embrace the plan God has for me.

God knows our fears when we encounter newness. However, He isn’t hesitant to make something beautiful out of them. This is just one of His many ways of extending love to us— His sovereignty IS loving. Even in our moments of highest uncertainty, we can trust that God has a plan to lovingly prosper us… even if our definition of “prospering” looks different than what we expected.

God,

Today we come to you with our fears… our anxieties… our moments of newness. We lay them at your feet, and we surrender the plans we’ve rigidly made for ourselves, and we humbly take up your perfect love and plan for our lives. When we feel unlike ourselves, and out of control, remind us, God, of your love and your nearness… that you decide who we are, and the ways in which we prosper. Be with us and draw us near in our midst. We love you, and we thank you for your loving sovereignty.

Amen,
