building organic community

Our community space, The Vine, has become a lively hub lately. It's rare to find the table empty or the room quiet. A new, organic sense of community is blossoming, independent of our scheduled classes or meals. It just happens.

Members frequently drop by for a cup of coffee or a moment of reflection, and soon, others join. Before long, the space erupts into boisterous chatter or deep discussions about faith and life. It's a wonderful time to witness friendships and connections forming right before our eyes.

This sense of community is also extending far beyond The Vine. It's moving into our lower-level Community Space, where members are stepping up to host things like a Super Bowl gathering or a bi-monthly Women's worship. This season, the spirit of community is palpable throughout the entire building. Hope Street is truly a place where people belong and are known.

I'm reminded that God created us with a fundamental need to belong and to be known. As Ephesians 2:19 (The Message) says: “This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home.” God is actively building this community right here.

My prayer is that we would all recognize those who long to be known, and that we would have the courage to invite others into our own stories, whatever they may be.

Lord, guide us in building community wherever we go. I pray that our walls would come down, allowing us to let others in to experience the grace, love, and community we find in You.

Amen,

Katee (Operations Coordinator)
